Jiao Niang opens up to Ru Xiang about feeling lost and
unsure of what she's supposed to do in different rituals and customs in
Taiwan. Ru Xiang attentively listens and shares her own cultural adjustment
experience when she first came to Taiwan. In the midst of their conversation, Hong
Lai, who is busy tending to the restaurant, joins them and encourages Jiao Niang,
saying that practice makes perfect, just like her own journey of opening her restaurant.
Feeling comforted and inspired by her sisters, Jiao Niang realizes that with their
support, she can overcome the challenges of daily life.
Jiao Niang continues her shopping trip, reciting the items her mother-in-law instruct-
ed her to buy. When she arrives at the incense shop, the shop owner hands her a bag
of pre-packaged incense. It turns out this was a thoughtful gesture arranged by
Jun Rong. Jiao Niang is really moved and immediately expresses her gratitude
to Jun Rong when she gets home.

Scene 3: Watching out for each other

Jiao Niang and her sister-in-law are preparing items for the ancestral
worship in the kitchen. A Xi comforts Jiao Niang, telling her not to worry
because she also learned by observing slowly over time. Everyone can ask for
help and support, and there is always a way to get things done well.
During the ceremony, Jun Rong's brother suggests to their father that Jiao Niang is a
Christian and shouldn’t offer incense. He explains that each family member can pray in
their own way following their beliefs. God will understand their intentions. After
worship, the whole family enjoys lunch. Jiao Niang's mother-in-law mentions that their
neighbors often argue about not eating pork, while her father-in-law remarks that it's
similar to people who are vegetarian. They emphasize the importance of mutual
tolerance and respect. Jun Rong nods in agreement. Jiao Niang thinks to herself how
                considerate and empathetic her father-in-law, mother-in-law, brother-in-law,
sister-in-law, and Jun Rong are. Her sadness and worry melts away. Jiao Niang
reminds herself to show them she loves them too since they are so supportive.
The respect and consideration from her family makes Jiao Niang no longer
feel like an outsider and it feels good. Jiao Niang smiles and enjoys
the meal with her family, feeling truly blessed and happy.
